I've been pursuing profits online since sometime in 2003ish.. and the first few years I was online, I sort of half-hazardly went from one thing to another looking for the golden ticket that would allow me to make a full-time living online and dump my offline businesses.
I failed a lot in the beginning.. and there are many reasons for that. But one of the #1 reasons is that I hadn't found or developed a Marketing System of making money that I could replicate.
I found products or memberships that taught me 'xyz' and then gave me some tools to go out and do it. All that did become part of an important knowledge foundation, but it wasn't more than telling me roughly what I could or should do.
My knowledge was pieced together from various places: articles, forums, reports, ebooks etc.. and nothing really fit together perfectly. Nothing really came together as a complete 'system'.
Then one day I stumbled upon a system to make money with Google Adwords and Affiliate Marketing. I applied it diligently; focusing only on making that work. And it did.. for the first time ever I made some decent money. For the first time ever online I felt more confident I might actually be able to do this someday full-time.
I had been familiar with systems offline. I used them in my sales career. But it never occured to me to make the leap that I could apply that same concept online.. until I stumbled upon this result.
From that day forward, everything I did, all revolved around systems.
Today I have systems to:
- To do Niche and Keyword Research
- Develop Websites around the Results of that Research
- A System to Create and Develop Content for a Site
- A System to Generate Traffic for those Sites
- A System to Monetize Those Sites
Systems come in all shapes and sizes. Multiple mini-systems for various tasks can tie together to complete a larger overall 'system' like I just described. My way of developing profitable niche websites all encompasses a system of mini-systems!
A system never has to be finished. I'm always tweaking and improving my way of doing things. But having a standard, step by step, easy system to follow in the first place, will find you greater success, faster.. IF you stick to it. Of course, all the other 'success' elements have to be present to including focus, commitment and action.
You create processes within these systems that get results. If something doesn't work or stops working, you eliminate it or switch it out testing something else. Even if you implement someone elses system, you can tweak it and improve on it.. personalize it.
You are always testing, studying and doing different things. But if you do that within a framework - a system - you will be much or effective and see greater results long term.
